Let's get your taxes done... minus the germs.

We'll be diligently preparing your tax returns; but all in-person meetings have been cancelled effective Monday, March 16, 2020 and onward (until further notice).

March 16, 2019

Dear Banks & Associates Clients,

Due to the unprecedented events brought on by the emergence of the coronavirus threat (COVID-19), the leadership team at Banks & Associates has met to discuss our response regarding the remaining tax season and the potential of the IRS to extend the filing deadline.

It is critical that we (both our team and our clients) stay healthy and not take undue risk. At Banks & Associates, we have decided to take certain steps to protect ourselves and others from the virus, flu, and other illnesses during this time. We will continue moving forward as follows:

1. All in-person appointments will be cancelled.
As of Monday, 3/16/2020, we will no longer meet with clients to prepare / review taxes. All existing tax appointments will be cancelled. Tax items will need to be dropped off. We are happy to communicate with our clients, answer questions, and review taxes by phone.

2. Pick-up and drop-off of your tax items will remain the same.
The pick-up and drop-off of your tax items will remain the same. Mel will continue to greet you in Mansfield, and Mary will continue to greet you in Loudonville. They will be keeping normal hours and proceeding as usual. If you are not feeling well or have reason to believe you may be ill, we encourage you to mail your tax items instead. All mailing address and contact info can be viewed on our website here.

3. We'll proceed with your taxes assuming the normal tax deadline, but we'll keep an eye on IRS updates.
The IRS is considering extending the filing deadline. Possible dates are June 15th, August 15th, or even October 15th. Until we hear of a definitive due date, we do not want to delay the filing of any tax returns. That being said, we're going to continue to work hard to get your returns completed by April 15th. Those clients who wish to file for an extended deadline can certainly do so.

As always, it is a pleasure to serve you. We appreciate your confidence in us. Stay healthy and please contact us if you have any questions.
